My Crohnie Diet: My Solid Food Diet
Hello fellow Crohn's warriors, I hope you all had brilliant day. Today I have decided to do a blog post my solid food diet. As a lot of you probably know if you follow me on twitter, I have an oesophageal stricture which restricts what I can eat a lot of the time so I will be doing 3 separate blog posts, my solid food diet, my restrict diet and what I have when I can't swallow anything solid.
After I have an oesophageal dilation to stretch my oesophagus I can normally eat solid food for about 2-3 weeks. In that 2-3 weeks I try to put on as much weight as I can and doing this can be quite difficult because I want to eat as much fattening foods as I can but I also want a diet that is rich in vitamin's and minerals.
Breakfast
For my breakfast I normally have Quakers Sweet Cinnamon porridge, I know that this is not as good as making your own porridge but every time I try to make my own porridge it is always disgusting. Occasionally I will have a slice of brown toast with marmalade but I never have cereal because I hate it so much. Now like most Crohns suffers my drink of choice of breakfast drink is coffee, I need to have a cup of coffee every morning to help me get going, I used to drink fresh orange juice every morning but I had to stop drinking it a few years ago because it always set off my acid reflux.
Snacks
The snacks that I eat are not very healthy at all. Since I have my illeostomy I am unable to snack on things like nuts and fruit, so I always end up having unhealthy stuff like cakes, crisps, white chocolate and Pot Noodles, I do occasionally have bananas and smoothies but I mostly only eat them in the summer time.
I really hoped that you enjoyed this blog post.

Lunch
My lunch is normally the same thing everyday homemade veggie soup. The reason for why I try to eat veggie soup everyday is because it is the easy way for me to get my some of 5 Having an ilestomy means that it sometimes it's hard to get your 5 a day.
The other things that I like to eat for lunch is cold pasta and baked potatoes. When I eat these two things I try to include some source of protein such as chicken or cheese.

Tea/Supper/Dinner
For my last meal of the day I try to cook as much as possible but by the time it comes to the end of the day I am pretty tired and cannot be bothered to cook anything. If I do cook I normally try to have a dish that contains meat, vegetables and carbohydrates and every week I try to have one meal that contains red meat because red meat is a source of iron. Now onto the really unhealthy stuff that I eat. At least once a week I always get a takeaway such as chips and curry sauce from the chip shop or pizza from Domino's and then the other day's that I don't cook I normally get a ready made meal.
